Code of Conduct
Effective date: July 2, 2026 · Last updated: July 2, 2026
Hansery is a professional community. Pros and Vendors meet here to discover products, specify them, and place real orders — often the start of a long working relationship. This Code of Conduct describes the standard of behavior we expect from everyone who uses Hansery, so the community stays professional, honest, and worth being part of.
It applies to you whenever you use the Services, and it is part of our Terms of Use — by agreeing to the Terms, you agree to this Code of Conduct.
1. The short version
- Treat everyone with respect and courtesy — every Pro, Vendor, Client, and Hansery team member.
- Hansery is a harassment-free community. Harassment, discrimination, and abuse are never tolerated.
- Be honest. Represent yourself, your credentials, your products, and your pricing accurately, and stand behind what you commit to.
- Keep it professional. Use Hansery's messaging and orders for genuine trade business — not spam, cold-selling unrelated products, or harvesting contacts.
- Look out for the community. If you see behavior that violates these guidelines, tell us at legal@hansery.com.
- We enforce this. Violations can lead to a warning, content removal, or suspension or termination of your account, at our discretion.
2. Who this applies to
This Code applies to everyone who uses the Services — Pros, Vendors, and their staff and representatives — and to the Hansery team; it also protects Clients, who access limited views through tokenized links. It covers every interaction that happens on or through Hansery, including messages, purchase orders, product listings and catalog content, reviews and ratings, support conversations, and email we send or relay on your behalf. Capitalized terms have the meaning given in the Terms of Use.
3. Treat everyone with respect
Hansery is committed to providing a welcoming, harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion (or lack of religion), or any other protected characteristic.
Harassment and abuse have no place here. This includes, but is not limited to:
- offensive, demeaning, or discriminatory comments;
- threats, intimidation, or incitement of violence;
- sexualized or discriminatory language, imagery, or content in messages, listings, or profiles;
- unwelcome sexual attention or advances;
- deliberate intimidation, stalking, or persistent unwanted contact after someone has asked you to stop;
- publishing another person's private information without their permission; or
- encouraging or coordinating any of the above.
Disagreements happen in business. Handle them professionally — critique the work, the product, or the terms, never the person.
4. Deal honestly and in good faith
Trust is what makes a trade marketplace work. You agree to:
- give accurate information about yourself and your business, and hold real, valid credentials for the role you claim (see the verification requirements in Section 4 of the Terms of Use);
- Vendors — list products, specifications, availability, and pricing accurately, and keep them current;
- Pros — use trade access for genuine professional purposes, and represent your projects and clients truthfully;
- communicate clearly about orders, and honor the commitments you make through a purchase order; and
- raise problems in good faith — don't use disputes, reviews, or reports to mislead, pressure, or retaliate against another user.
5. Communicate professionally
Messaging, purchase orders, and other channels exist to help Pros and Vendors do real business together. When you use them:
- keep contact relevant to genuine trade interest, an active order, or an existing relationship;
- don't send spam, mass solicitations, or cold pitches for unrelated products or services;
- don't harvest names, contact details, or other information about users to reuse or sell elsewhere; and
- respect people's time and their "no" — if someone declines or stops responding, don't keep pushing.
6. Respect the platform and each other's data
Conduct that misuses the Services themselves is addressed by our other policies rather than restated here: scraping or harvesting data, tampering with security, and other platform misuse are governed by Section 7 (Acceptable use) of the Terms of Use, confidential trade pricing by Section 11, and — for Vendors — circumventing fees or taking network-originated business off-platform by Section 8 of the Vendor Enrollment Agreement. Those rules are part of the standard we hold you to here.
7. Reporting a concern
If you experience or witness a violation of this Code, please report it to legal@hansery.com. Where you can, include what happened, who was involved, and any messages, order references, or screenshots that help us understand — the more context, the faster we can act.
We take every report seriously and review it promptly. We treat reports as confidentially as we reasonably can, sharing details only as needed to investigate and respond. We will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who makes a good-faith report or takes part in a review.
8. Consequences
We may investigate any suspected violation and respond in whatever way we judge appropriate. Depending on the severity and the circumstances, that may include:
- a warning;
- editing, hiding, or removing content, listings, or messages;
- limiting, suspending, or removing access to features, trade pricing, or messaging; or
- suspending or terminating your account.
Serious violations can result in immediate termination without prior warning. These measures are in addition to the rights we have under the Terms of Use (including Sections 7 and 12) and the Vendor Enrollment Agreement. Actions we take under this Code are at Hansery's sole discretion.
9. How this fits with our other policies
This Code supplements, and is incorporated into, the Terms of Use; it does not replace them or the Vendor Enrollment Agreement. If anything here conflicts with the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use control. How we handle your personal information — including anything you send in a report — is described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes
We may update this Code from time to time. When we do, we'll post the revised version with a new date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice as described in Section 16 of the Terms of Use. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Code.
